A full day trip to the Reims region that is known throughout the world for its product, champagne.
The tour includes a visit to the Reims Cathedral that dates back to 13th century. The place is famous for Kings of France having their coronations at the cathedral. As a part of the tour you will also visit the champagne houses: Mumm and Mercier, where you will taste the champagne and see the area's vineyards.
Total trip duration is 10.5 hours, with departure from central Paris. Arrival at Reims is around 10.30 am.
The tour starts with an audio guide in the cellars of the Mumm Champagne house, where you will learn the history and details behind champagne production. The cellar tour ends with tasting of the most popular champagnes, "Red Ribbon".
Your Reims experience continues with a guided tour of the Reims Cathedral, a place of the coronations of the Kings of France.
You will have enough time to wander through the center of Reims. Lunch is at your expense, there are many interesting locations to choose from for your lunch - be it a light snack, or Reims pink biscuits, or the Langres cheeses.
Your guided tour continues in the afternoon as you continue to the second champagne house, Mercier. An automated train will take you 100 ft (30m) down so that you could visit champagne cellars. The tour ends with Mercier champagne tasting.
You will be leaving Mercier at 4 pm and arrive to Paris around 6.30 pm.
You will be able to purchase champagne during the tour. Please have some warm clothes with you to put on in the cellars, as it is chilly in the cellars throughout the year.
Please note if one of the champagne houses is not open for visits during the tour, it will be replaced by visit to another cellar, for example Georges Cartier cellar.
After you purchase a tour online, you will receive a confirmation voucher. Please present it at the departure point on the day of the tour. The bus leaves from 2 rue des Pyramides 75001 Paris (not far from the Louvre Museum). Arrival to Reims is around 10.30 am. Arrival to Paris after the tour is around 6.30 pm.
Please be at departure point at least 30 minutes before the scheduled tour start time.
