Visit three of the most famous châteaux in Loire Valley: Château de Chambord, Château de Chenonceau and Château de Cheverny. It is a full day trip with a professional tour guide.
Total trip duration - 9 hours, departure from central Paris.
The châteaux dates back to the Renaissance period and were accommodated by the Kings of France.
Château de Chambord is one of the largest in the Loire Valley, located in the middle of a huge hunting area. Leonardo da Vinci helped build it in the 16th century. Lots of things to marvel at, including the double helix staircase and the wide panoramic terrace with chimneys overlooking the grounds.
Château de Chenonceau has also been known as the ‘The ladies’ castle’, was also built in the 16th Century. The château was home to many well-known French ladies, with Diane de Poitiers, Catherine de Medici and Louise de Lorraine among them. The château looks like a castle from a fairy-tale.
The third stop is at the Château de Cheverny, It was built in the 17th century, but its interiors are still well-preserved today.
There will be a guided tour at each of the châteaux (45 - 60 minutes each). You will then have time to explore the châteaux on your own.
Lunch is included in the tour price only from November 1 to March 31. During the rest of the year the tour guide will advise places where you can have lunch on your own.
Please note that on Saturdays and Mondays between April 1 and October 31 the tour of Château de Cheverny is replaced by a tour of Château d'Amboise, a royal residence during the 15th-16th centuries. The tomb of Leonardo da Vinci is also at Château d'Amboise.
